Palencia

Hey hey hey.
Well we left reinosa! Whasn't that nice cos it was cold and miserable. not fun! When we were gonna leave it started to rain an we though "right were leaving-are we getting wet or are we getting a train...?" so we took the cowards option an got a train. Exept there were only three trains a day an we were to late for the first one so we had to wait three or four hours for the next one!
Anyway we waved goodbye through the rain as the train pulled out of the station on its way to Palencia!
We arrived in Palencia at about half five. It was raining heavy! So we thought "lets just get to a hostel an sort ourselves out an then consider the city..." Didnt happen! We rode around the city for hours looking for a place but everywhere was full!
AHHH what we gonna do?!
We had a lot of reasons to be very miserable exept that we did meet a lot of really nice people who took pity on us. It was dark (around nineish) an we had no succes finding anywhere to stay. I was getting worried- I thought we were gonna have to spend the night on the train station an get the soonest train out of there... we were getting desparate... So desparate that we were willing to try (an pay for) a four star hotel a bit out of town that we had seen earlier while checking out hostels further an further afield (in the rain).
Shock- it was also full!- Oh No..what are we gonna do now!! So i asked the woman at the desk if she could ring around an try an find us a place- i felt fairly certain that we had run out of options. She said there was only one place she knew, about 8k out of town, that had any places... What the hell is going on!? Why is everywhere full?! Everywhere- im not kidding we rode around in the rain for hours!! An then she found somewhere! A little out of town! Three star! 70 something euros! who cares? cos i didnt!!
So we ploughed over there ful of hope! And all was good!! 
!!! So we sorted our stuff out. Changed our wet clothes an realised we hadnt eaten any thing proper since breakfast in reinosa (which had a slab on ham in it!!!!) Anyway we were ver hungry! And tired an not so wet anymore so we went out an met more nice people at a really nice tapas bar. we finished our glorious meal an immediatly ordered another one!!! The guy who served us was really nice! (and very amused that we ordered one meal after another) I ended up saying " if its vegetarian ill eat it! Bring it on!!" So we had one of every vegy thing on the menu and went back to the hotel in much better spirits to collapse!
We decided to stay another night here (despite cost) to see the city in daylight without panic or rain. Its actually a really nice place- A glorious sunny day an a huge buffet breakfast made me happy from the beginning
Were planning on heading to Fromisa tomorrow (about 30k n/w ish) an starting the pilgrim trail to santiago. An then once that is done... South! following the sun an heat! Bring it on! Heres hoping we get as nice a day tomorrow as we had today. Wish us luck!! I
